About us
Walter Penwardine was the village carpenter when he made his first coffin for a neighbour in 1962. His daughter Ruth took over in 1995, and today she works alongside her own daughter, Kate.
Three generations, one village
We are not a big company and never want to be. We know the churches, chapels and burial grounds of the valley, and many of the families too. We will sit with you at your kitchen table and plan a funeral that feels right.
We are members of the community we serve. We will always tell you what things cost, and we will never rush you.
